RTM provided MEP/FP engineering design services for an expansion to the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center, a clinic providing prevention, care and research of infectious diseases. The facility uses a model in which patients can receive any of the services they need under one roof, including primary and specialty medical care, dental care, social and support services, prevention and education programs, opportunities to participate in research, and confidential screenings and counseling services.
The project consisted of extending the existing MEP/FP infrastructure into a new storage space being added onto the existing building. The electrical distribution was extended in order to accommodate a new lighting and power infrastructure. A new HVAC system was designed to serve the expansion area while also meeting current energy code requirements. RTM also extended the tele/data infrastructure to the new space, and designed a cooling system for the existing data center that was running warm.
